# Reporting Characteristics

The **Reporting Characteristics** aspect identifies the scope and boundaries of the entity’s standing investment portfolio for the current reporting year. This defines the scope of the Performance Component and serves as the foundation for benchmarking classification of indicators subject to relative scoring, and peer group allocation.
