# Data Center Assessment Explorer

The GRESB Data Center Assessment Explorer (DCAE) is a resource designed to help participants better understand the scoring methodology used in the GRESB Data Center Assessment.

The tool mirrors the structure and scoring logic of the assessment, allowing participants to explore how portfolio composition and reported levels of control influence score allocation and maximum achievable scores. It can be used to perform scenario analyses, compare standard and control-weighted scoring outcomes, and identify where points can be earned across the assessment.

This tool contains:

* **Portfolio Inputs:** Simulate different portfolio compositions based on lifecycle characteristics.
* **Summary:** Review score allocation and maximum achievable points by assessment component.
* **Indicator Summary Table:** Explore indicator-level scoring, evidence requirements, applicability, and control-weighted outcomes.
* **Control Analysis:** Simulate participant-specific control levels and their impact on scoring.
* **Export & Import Functions:** Save, share, and reload assessment scenarios.

This tool is not linked to the GRESB Portal and does not impact your official submission. It may be used freely to test inputs and understand potential scoring outcomes.

## How to Use the Tool?

To get started, click on the link above to access the Explorer.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### **Define Your Portfolio Composition**

Select the lifecycle composition of the portfolio on the left pane:

* New Development & Operational
* Operational only
* New Development only

If the portfolio includes both operational and development sites, enter the percentage split between the two.

The portfolio split visualization will update automatically, and the **Summary** section will recalculate the applicable score allocation and maximum available points.

### **Review Assessment Outputs**

The **Summary** section provides an overview of:

* Score allocation by component
* Maximum available points
* Portfolio-specific scoring adjustments

The **Indicator Summary Table** displays:

* Maximum achievable scores by indicator
* Reported control levels
* Control-weighted maximum scores
* Evidence requirements

Use the search and filter options to focus on specific indicators, aspects, or evidence requirements.

### Simulate Control-Weighted Maximum Scores

For control-dependent indicators, use the **Reported Control** panel to enter the percentage of the portfolio for which the reporting entity has control.

The Assessment Explorer automatically recalculates the **Control-Weighted Score** by redistributing the weighting of Implementation and Measurement indicators where reported control is below 100% to the corresponding Strategy and Management indicators within the same aspect.

This provides a participant-specific view of maximum achievable scoring that reflects the reporting entity’s ability to influence and measure outcomes across the portfolio.

### Additional Features

**Export and Import Scenarios**

Use the **Export View** and **Import View** functions to save and reload assessment scenarios.

This allows users to:

* Save portfolio configurations and control assumptions
* Share scenarios with colleagues
* Continue work at a later stage
* Compare different assessment outcomes
