Insight Report
The GRESB Insight Report provides a detailed, entity-level analysis of the data submitted in the GRESB Data Center Assessment. It presents results in a structured format, beginning with high-level scoring outcomes and progressing into a detailed, indicator-by-indicator breakdown of performance, validation decisions, and submitted responses.
The Insight Report is designed to help participants:
Identify areas of strength, risk, and opportunity in relation to scoring
Understand validation outputs and their impact on the score
Support internal performance planning and external stakeholder engagement

GRESB Scores
The Transparency Score reflects the total points achieved under the standard scoring structure. It is calculated as the sum of all scored indicators and represents the entity’s overall management practices, organizational strategy, implementation action, and performance measurement within the assessment framework.
The Transparency Score, Control-Weighted adjusts results to reflect the level of control reported over applicable indicators. Incorporating control provides additional context and shows how results shift when operational influence is taken into account.
The Innovator badge is awarded to entities that complete the Innovation component. It highlights engagement with innovation-related topics and signals areas of differentiated practice. The “Recognized in” badges reflect the categories submitted, providing a visual summary of where innovation has been demonstrated.
Portfolio Overview
The Portfolio Breakdown section summarizes the composition of the reporting portfolio, including whether it consists of operational sites, development sites, or a combination of both.
In addition to the portfolio split, the reporting mix is presented. This shows the different business models within the portfolio, along with the corresponding capacity and number of sites attributed to each.
The reporting portfolio context is important for understanding the scope of the assessment. It affects Section weighting, final score calculation, and defines the sites to which all indicator responses and supporting evidence apply.
Score Positioning
The Score Positioning section provides a comparative view of performance across aspects, showing how each contributes to the overall score.
For each aspect, the chart displays the Transparency Score alongside the Transparency Score, Control-Weighted, allowing participants to understand how reported levels of control influence results. Differences between the two highlight where control assumptions have increased or reduced the achieved score.
The panel on the right summarizes the overall scores, including the split between the Management Score and the Material Issues Score, for both the Transparency and Transparency, Control-Weighted Scores.
Together, these views make it easier to identify which aspects drive performance, where control has the greatest impact, and how scores are split across the assessment.
Score Summary
The Score Summary section provides a consolidated view of performance at both the aspect (e.g., Leadership) and indicator level (e.g., LE2).
For each indicator, the report displays the points achieved, the maximum points available, and the indicator’s relative weight within its section. Comparing achieved points against the maximum allows readers to quickly identify performance gaps and potential improvement areas.
Sustainability Breakdown
Each indicator is allocated to one of the three dimensions (E- Environmental; S- Social; G- Governance):
Environmental indicators are related to actions and efficiency measures undertaken in order to monitor and decrease the environmental footprint of the portfolio.
Social indicators are related to the entity’s relationship with and impact on its stakeholders and the direct social impact of its activities.
Governance indicators are related to the governance of environmental, financial, and operational sustainability policies, procedures, and approaches to sustainability at the entity level.
Indicator Breakdown
Validation Output
The Validation section provides a detailed view of the validation applied to submitted “Other” responses and evidence. For each validated indicator, the following content is displayed:
Validation decision (e.g., accepted, not accepted)
Points awarded following validation
Items accepted versus not accepted
Validation comments and reasoning (where applicable)
This section helps participants understand how “Other” responses and supporting evidence were validated, how this affected scoring, and where improvements can be made. It supports transparency in the validation process and enables a deeper review of discrepancies identified.
Indicator Breakdown
The Indicator Breakdown section provides a detailed view of responses at the indicator level. For each indicator, the following content is displayed:
Total points achieved (next to indicator code)
The selected response options (if the response is “Yes”)
Open-text boxes and uploaded evidence (when applicable)
The full list of indicators is presented here, enabling a deeper review of selections, scoring outcomes, and supporting documentation across the assessment.
