## Assessment Instructions

<details>

<summary><strong>Intent</strong>: What is the purpose of this indicator?</summary>

This indicator intends to assess how the entity addresses sustainability risks and opportunities in its investment monitoring processes/asset management, and communication for its standing/current investments.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Input</strong>: How do I complete this indicator?</summary>

{% hint style="info" %}
Instructions apply to first-year fund participants or funds that materially changed their management practices since last year's assessment.
{% endhint %}

Select yes or no. If yes, select all applicable sub-options.

#### Terminology

**Community/Public**

> Persons or groups of people living and/or working in any areas that are economically, socially or environmentally impacted (positively or negatively) by the entity’s operations.

**Investment monitoring process**

> A process that monitors the performance of entity's standing/current investments on a regular basis.

**Investors/shareholders**

> The entity’s current investors and/or equity stake owners in the entity.

**Regulators/Government**

> The state and/or local authoritative and administrative governing body.

**Special interest groups**

> Organization with a shared interest or characteristic (e.g. trade unions, non- governmental organizations).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Validation</strong>: What evidence is required?</summary>

No evidence required. Only the open text boxes are manually validated.

{% hint style="info" %}
However, GRESB will automatically apply the previous year's validation decision for previous fund participants, provided the indicator response and documentation remain consistent (i.e., the entity does not modify its selections or evidence). Read more [here](/fund/completing-the-assessment/supporting-information/data-quality-and-validation/validation-qualitative.md#validation-criteria).
{% endhint %}

**Open Text Box Requirements:** The text must include all of the applicable elements below:

* Identify which specific sustainability risks and/or opportunities are addressed.
* Indicate how they are addressed (i.e., processes or approach).
* Indicate which tools are used (i.e., risk matrices, management systems).

<details>

<summary><strong>Scoring</strong>: How does GRESB score this indicator?</summary>

The scoring of this indicator is equal to the sum of the fractions assigned to the selected options and respective sub-options, multiplied by the total score of the indicator.

**Evidence:** The evidence is manually validated and assigned a multiplier, according to the table below. The evidence must support the validation requirements.

If any requirements are not met, the evidence may be partially accepted or not accepted, depending on the level of alignment with the requirements.

| Validation status  | Multiplier |
| ------------------ | ---------- |
| Accepted           | 2/2        |
| Partially Accepted | 1/2        |
| Not Accepted       | 0          |

**Diminishing increase in scoring:** This indicator is affected by the "diminishing increase in score" approach, where the fractional score achieved for each selection decreases as the number of selections increases.
